Our mentorship program brings together queer professionals in the corporate world, solo-preneurs & entrepreneurs, and all the multi-hyphenates in between.

If you're a queer professional located in Utah who is looking to build new connections, learn from colleagues, and form meaningful community, Common Thread is for you.

Traditionally, mentors are more experienced professionals looking to share their knowledge and support someone less experienced in the field, while mentees are those looking to learn from someone more experienced. If you like that setup, then great!

In Common Thread, we see mentorship is a two-way street. Both mentors and mentees learn from one another.

Know that whichever role you choose to play, your success will depend on your openness, willingness to listen and learn, and willingness to share and support.

In general, plan on 2-4 hours per month for your participation. 

Once you're in a pairing, you and your partner will create the schedule and timeline that works best for both of you. This might look like a bi-weekly meeting, weekly virtual connections over lunch, email support, etc.

You create the program that works best for you.

Mentors and mentees choose each other; you have a major voice in this process.
All mentors and all mentees will give their input on who they'd like to work with and matches are made based on those responses.

Not every applicant will match this program year. Common Thread will do everything we can to help facilitate matches, but there is no guarantee that you will be matched.
